Love to sing?

The North Nibley Community Choir and The Morning Choir in Wotton are thriving community choirs which started in 2014.

The focus of both choirs is to sing for fun but there are opportunities to perform in public at Christmas and other concerts as arranged during the year.

In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere we sing a wide variety of uplifting and fun music - pop, soul, folk, jazz, blues, world, classical and more.  As well as singing in 2, 3 and 4 part harmonies, we enjoy singing simple rounds and warm-up exercises.

A variety of teaching methods is used, both learning parts by ear and also using sheet music for longer, more complex pieces. There is no need to be able to read music for this.
We learn new songs each term to add to our repertoire which is ever-growing!

New members are always welcome, whether beginners or experienced singers. You don't need to have an amazing voice to be in a choir, it's
all about the love of singing and the communities built in the process.

Choir Leader

Both choirs are led by Rowan Armes.

Rowan teaches with warmth and enthusiasm. Through the choirs, she seeks to share her love of music with singers of all levels of experience in an informal and fun atmosphere.

Rowan has also been a Music Therapist since 1999, working in mental health and learning disabilities. She is a member of the British Association of Music Therapists and the Natural Voice Network.
